Speed Freaks CreepyPasta

Does anyone remember the PS1 game called ''Speed Freaks''? It was a 1999 PS1 racing game, I remember playing this game when I was a kid, it may have just been a bland rip off of Mario Kart 64 and Diddy Kong Racing, but I loved it anyways. To those who live in America, the game would've been known as ''Speed Punks'', but where I come from, it's called Speed Freaks.

So, I was searching eBay for a copy of the game, and to my luck, there was one more copy of the game! At last, I was about to relive my childhood again. But when I went onto the page, something gave me a chill down my spine, but I didn't care, I bought the game and waited for it to arrive.

After a week, it came in the mail, I couldn't wait to play it! But, I looked at the parcel that it came in....there was no return address, the parcel just said ''Speed Freaks'', in a crudely written sharpie, and when I opened the parcel; the box art cover for the game wasn't there at all, it just had the box with the disc. I decided to go back onto eBay to share my feedback with the person who was sold me the game, but when I checked my Speed Freaks purchase....the person who was selling the game had closed their account.

I wondered why, and that was the only thing that the seller was selling....odd. So I put the disc in my PS1 and began playing, the cutscenes began as usual, but when it got to the ''Press Start'' screen, when they all said ''Speed Freaks!'' It sounded a little....distorted...and quite....demonic. I got a little disturbed after this, but I just shook it off as a little glitch.

So I went to the character select screen to choose my racing character, but, this was when things started to become a little....creepy. When I went to Tempest, he would be seen sawing on a piece of wood, probably to build his car, but when I saw Tempest in this version, he was sawing alright, but it wasn't wood, it looked like....a child's corpse, he was sawing a child's corpse in half, and whenever he turned around showing his face, instead of his disgruntled face, he had....blood on his face, and his mouth had an evil grin, and his goggles had 2 little red dots glowing out of them.

I felt a chill running down my spine, this wasn't normal, was the game hacked? I moved over to Tabatha, she would usually be seen with the head of her teddy bear, already stating that obvious that she had ripped the teddy's head off, a typical child, but, she didn't have the head of her teddy; instead, she had the head of a toddler, their face was very pale, stating that rigor mortis had already kicked in, she was banging the severed head on the floor to see if it would react.

I got creeped out and moved onto Buster and Wedgie, I assumed that they were brothers, and they would be seen beating up each other, like most crazy siblings, but, Buster was there, and so was Wedgie, but something was different; Buster had tears in his eyes, and he looked very forlorn. Wedgie wasn't even moving at all, his body was limp.....was Wedgie dead? Buster was still punching Wedgie as normal, but with less effort, was Buster beating up the corpse of his brother? Had Buster beaten Wedgie to death?

I got even more disturbed and moved onto Monty, he would be seen playing video games, with his dog Cosworth asleep in his dogbed, but....Cosworth wasn't even there, and Monty was in a fetal position on his beanbag; sobbing, has Cosworth died? And is Monty grieving the loss of his dog? I moved over to Brains, I got a little creeped out when I saw Brains, he was lying face down on his desk, a part of his head was split open, I could see a bit of his brain, and flies flying around it.

I shuddered and moved onto Monica, she would be seen filing her nails and listening to music, and a flower would be dancing beside her, but that didn't happen. Monica was staring at me with a blank expression, and she looked like she was filing her nails, but instead of a nail file, she had a knife, and instead of using it on her nails, she was rubbing the knife back and forth on her wrist, was Monica self harming herself? The music playing on her radio was playing in reverse, and playing in a much lower pitch than usual, the little flower that danced beside her was lying limp, it was dead. Monica's eyes were wide open, and there was red around her irises, her eyes were also bloodshot and her mouth was opened a little bit in an O shape. She looked like she was crying. I had enough, so I went over and tried to turn my PS1 off, but then the screen flickered and showed me a message...

''If you dare flip that switch, we will make sure you spend eternity in Hell...''
I got creeped out, so I had to keep playing, so I had to choose a character, so I chose Tempest. He looked at me with a hungry look on his face. I accepted and he did an evil cackle...

Although the racing levels seemed normal, there was something sinister about them, so I chose Shipwreck Shore and began...

As soon as I was in the race, the sky was pitch black and the clouds were red, like blood. Then as soon as the race started, I heard demonic laughter, the little ads by where the crowds were words of an evil kind, such as ''Doomed'' and ''You're Next'', and even though I was first, the crowd booed with malice. Then suddenly, my tyres were inflating, this was the tyre-inflating power up, but instead of it stopping my car for a few seconds; the car exploded, ripping Tempest into little pieces, and the torn body parts were done in graphic detail, blood oozed out of Tempest's corpse, and the blood was done in hyper-realism style. I almost cried, this had to be some kind of joke, but I continued on.

I decided to play the tournament, and I chose Monica, but when I selected her, instead of her saying ''Let's go!'', she said ''I will make your life a living hell..'' she said before placing her knife in between her hands.

So I started the tournament with Shipwreck Shore, of course I won the race, but alongside with the results for that race....I saw my own name on the table, usually it would say ''Monica'', but it said my name....I don't remember putting down my name unless it was a customized tournament...but it wasn't customized.
After I completed the other 2 levels, which were like the morbid things in Shipwreck Shore; Thunder Trail was the one that scared me the most. Instead of it's jungle-like atmosphere, everything was dark, there were stars in the sky, and there were bodies hung by nooses all over the trees. As I drove under a hanging body, it suddenly fell on Monica and she screamed. My TV screen blacked out, and suddenly, I saw a hyper-realistic drawing of Monica being hung, it terrified me...

Then it brought me back to the beginning of Thunder Trail, but I was Tetsuo this time, didn't I have to unlock Tetsuo before I could play as him? I don't remember completing the other part of the tournament.
So I raced as Tetsuo, the other racers drove by me....but they all had demonic faces, some of them had sharp teeth and Tempest has his saw, like....he was going to kill Tetsuo right there...he did, and then I saw a hyper realistic drawing of Tetsuo's corpse in half. I felt so sorry for him.
I tried to pause the game and tried to quit Thunder Trail, but the exit button was blanked out...forcing me to continue on with the race.
So when I returned to the race, I was someone else this time....but the racer looked different.

The racer looked just like........me.

I couldn't believe it, I was a racer in this game, there was no customization option for racers, so why did I appear in the game. I got scared, so I raced as myself, and then, near the lava pit, there was a black hole, I tried to drive around it to avoid it....but it sucked me in, and then my TV screen started going crazy! It faded to black, and out of nowhere, a hyper realistic picture of me was seen on my TV.....but I was lying there, and all of the Speed Freaks were standing around me...laughing at me, taunting me. Tabatha even poked me with a sharp blade.

I just had to turn off the game, so I immediately pulled the plug and thankfully, the game shut off. I was done, I burned the disc and threw it away. So that night, when I went to bed, I found it hard to sleep...because, whenever I opened my eyes after closing them....I saw...the Speed Freaks, standing there....at the edge of my bed, holding a noose. Then words flashed above them saying.......''Game Over''...then everything went black...
